Food You Can't Eat

Recently I've developed a weird fascination for knitted food. Not fascinated in a sense that compells me to buy it, more amazement that there are people in this world who make a living from selling knitted food!

Why did I not think of this? If I could knit, the idea would probably have dawned on me sooner. As my life stands, I shall just have to continue wondering what my life might have been if I had been the Creator of knitted food.

Pieces of 8

Pieces of 8

When I was a student, some nasty cretin broke into my house and stole all my jewellery, including a Links of London charm bracelet bought for my 21st birthday. I have been rebuilding my collection ever since and I'm still a little bit heartbroken about it.

I was recently bought some amazing jewellery by designer, Vanya http://www.etsy.com/shop/jewellerybyvanya on etsy which I love (some of which can be seen in the photo above). It's subtle with a hint of quirky and nicely affordable - Good for Valentines day!

I Love You More Than Sleep

Big love to Rob Ryan, I am a huge fan. I collected some of his cards from his shop on Columbia Road and framed them as a set. I was also given this decal as a lovely gift. I'm going to put it above my bed. Pictures to follow!

You can follow everything Rob Ryan does on his blog here: http://ryantownshop.blogspot.com/

Colour me beautiful

I recently discovered Blanchucha through OhJoy! and fell in love with these prints. Ma Mere et mon Pere were kind enough to buy me this set of four for my birthday from Etsy and had them professionally framed. I have two hanging next to my bed and they make me smile every morning.

There is an interesting article with the artist: Blanca Gómez on Jenn Ski's blog, here.

A New Leaf

A new leaf

In our house, we have decided that 2010 is the year of action. The year when we make things happen. I've been wanting to keep a blog for a while now but have always found excuses not to. Pretty much the same excuses as I find not to join a gym. But hey, there's only so much drinking a person can do and not develop an unsightly paunch so my first step to nurturing a life away from the pub is this blog. Maybe the gym will come later...

I took this photo whilst I was back home for Christmas: here. Which, coincidently, is also where Tom Baker of Dr. Who fame lives. I'm sure he'll thank me for telling you that.
